Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I book with you?
The best way to stay updated about my schedule is through my mailing list. I do not respond to inquiries when my bookings are closed so that I can focus my attention and care to my clients that have current appointments. I only open my schedule twice a year and take about 30-50 new clients each round, depending on the scale of the projects that come in. I will send out a booking form through the mailing list when I am ready to book for the next round. I do my best to get in people that have submitted more than once. I want to thank you all for your patience with this. I am one person and I try to accomedate as many people as possible. This is the best way for me to not get overwhelmed at this time.
  • Why a mailing list?
I have found a mailing list to be the least overwhelming way for me to get in touch with clients that are interested in working with me. I prefer to get all the clients for that season in at once, that way I can focus on my clients and the artwork without constantly responding to emails. I assure you, I do not spam your email box. During a booking season, I will send 3 emails: 1. Books are opening soon 2. Booking is live with a link to the submission form 3. Thank you!
  • How do you pick projects to work on?
When I send out the initial booking newsletter, I will typically give examples of projects I am interested in. I also typically provide a few predrawns to choose from if you want a tattoo but dont know what you want. I receive a large volume of inquiries each round, I wish I could pick them all, but I am only one person and can only do my best. Dont be discouraged if you dont get an apppointment during a booking period, I tend to narrow it down by availability and scale of the project. I.e. I'll pick maybe 5 sleeves/large scale and then fill in the rest with small and medium sized peices.
  • What should I include in my booking form?
Please have an idea in mind. Even if you are open to ideas and possibilities, I do need a jumping off point. Submissions that say "floral half sleeve, open to whatever" will not get picked. It can be creatively exhausting in every consult to come up with an idea from scratch. Submissions that say "I want a half sleeve with x,y,z. Open to your creative input" is more likely to get picked. These are just examples, I do not expect everyone to want a half sleeve, lol.
  • What is your pricing?
I require a sliding scale $100-$500 non-refundable deposit based on the complexity and size of the tattoo at the time of booking to hold your spot. The deposit may or may not go towards the final price of the tattoo depending on the time to draw/research for your image. Canceling or rescheduling requires 48hrs advance notice or your deposit will be forfeited. I charge $200/hr and tend to book out max sessions at 4 hours. If your piece takes longer, we will break it into multiple sessions.
  • Do you do art reviews?
I don’t typically offer art reviews as I work on the drawing the night before or the morning of your tattoo appointment. If it is something that we plan out in advance for a larger piece, (i.e. sleeve, back piece, etc) then we can set up a time to go over the art and do some fitting to your body before the tattoo appointment. If you are nervous about not seeing the art before your tattoo appointment, it is totally normal. When we have a consultation, I will make sure that we are really clear on what the details are for your piece, and if I have questions, I may reach out to you prior to starting the art. I hope that by choosing me to be your artist, you would put your trust in me to give you the best tattoo that I can. I have the confidence to give every tattoo my all, and I wish for the same level of confidence from my clients.
  • Do you do coverups and add-ons?
I often get asked to do cover ups and add ons to existing tattoos. I will take these on a case by case basis if I am confident and clear with the possible outcome of the project. If I am unsure, I will refer you to someone that would better suit your needs. My work tends to rely on lines and that isn’t always best suited for coverups, but I am willing to take a stab at it, if I know that we can make it better.
  • What do you recommend for aftercare?
Keep it simple. I will instruct you on how long to wear the bandage on your tattoo based on our session. Once removing the bandage, rinse with water and some Castile soap or fragrance free antibacterial soap to get any of the blood or plasma off, then pat dry with a clean towel or disposable paper towel, let it dry for the night/day. Starting the next day, you will rinse it at least once a day and apply a thin layer of fragrance free lotion (I like Aveeno) as needed for dryness. Try to keep your new tattoo covered by loose fitting clothing as to not expose it to the elements for at least two weeks or until any flaking/scabbing is gone and it is smooth to the touch. No soaking in a body of water, (no soggy scabs) and keep it out of the sun during that time. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me by email or phone!
